THE SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
The vocation of marriage is written in the very nature of man and woman as they came from the hand of the Creator. Marriage is not a purely human institution despite the many variations it may have undergone through the centuries in different cultures, social structures and spiritual attitudes. - Catechism of the Catholic Church no.1603
"Father, you have made the union of man and woman so holy a mystery that it symbolizes the marriage of Christ and his Church…. (Rite of Marriage)
We are here to walk with you as you prepare for Christian Marriage in the Catholic Church.
Engaged couples are expected to begin their preparation 9 to 12 months before the intended wedding date. The first step is to attend a Marriage Preparation Orientation held once a month in our Parish Hall. At this orientation, the couple will learn more about the marriage process, as well as participate in a couple survey. An appointment with a priest or deacon will follow shortly after the orientation. If the wedding is to take place at Saint Andrew, no date can be scheduled without approval of one of the parish clergy. For more information or to register for an orientation, please contact Deannie and Tom Rooney, 817-599-6543.
