Dr. Christina Alves is Director of Liturgy and Music, a position she has held for 27 years. Christina completed a music education degree in Arkansas and advanced degrees at Louisiana State University. She has sung roles with various opera companies to include Ohio Light Opera, Washington Summer Opera, Annapolis Opera, LSU/Baton Rouge Opera, and the Young Victorian Theatre. She has taught liturgical ministry workshops regionally and cantored for many Diocesan liturgies in Fort Worth, Baton Rouge and the Archdiocese of Baltimore. With over 40 years experience, she enjoys connecting people and helping them discover their God-given gifts. She plans and coordinates all liturgical celebrations, plans music for all liturgies, directs the Children’s Choir, supervises her staff, and oversees all liturgical ministries with over 400 volunteers. She works closely with our clergy and truly loves the people in our parish. She is grateful for her husband Thomas and four children for their support in her vocation as wife, mother, and her ministry within the Church.
