2025 Level II Part 1 - Adult Formation Course
Saint Andrew Catholic Church July 9–12, 2025 & July 14–18, 20249:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day(Note: No formation on July 13th)This registration form reserves your spot for the first part of Level 2 training, which is an immersive, comprehensive formation course designed to deepen your understanding and ability to guide children in the spiritual journey of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). Level 2 focuses on the themes of the Paschal Mystery, the Sacraments, and the deeper theological concepts that build upon the foundations laid in Level 1.
The formation will consist of two sessions: July 9–12 and July 14–18, with a break on July 13th. Each day of the course will provide rich opportunities for study, reflection, and hands-on experience with CGS materials. You’ll explore key theological concepts, practice presenting sacred lessons, and develop a deeper connection to the child’s spiritual growth in the atrium.
A light breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided each day. As with Level 1, childcare is not available, but we are gathering interest for possible arrangements.
Priority registration will be given to Saint Andrew parishioners, and remaining spots will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once your registration is submitted, you will receive a confirmation by April 21st with further details about your spot and course fees and instructions on how to make payment.Meet the Formation Leader:
Sister Theresa Josephine is a member of the Dominican Sisters of Mary Immaculate Province based in Houston. She holds Catechesis of the Good Shepherd certifications at levels 1, 2, and 3, a bachelor’s degree in theology from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, and a master’s degree in theological studies from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia. Since 2019, she has also been certified as a Formation Leader for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, training adults to become catechists at levels 1 and 2.Born into a Catholic family of seven children in Vietnam, Sister Theresa Josephine came to the United States as a refugee at the age of 15 and joined her religious community. As a member of a preaching and teaching religious order, she is passionate about guiding people to Christ, especially children. She has been a catechist serving various levels of youth and children since 1992, with a particular focus on guiding children to Christ through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd since 2011. In addition to her teaching ministry, Sister Theresa Josephine has served her religious community on the Provincial Council for 12 years and in religious formation for nine years. However, teaching has always been her gift and passion.
In her free time, she enjoys taking nature walks to discover and contemplate God’s beauty, goodness, and truth in nature. She also creates teaching materials from various raw materials, particularly wood, making carpentry her hobby.
